Colgate Supports Smiles Across America Product Donation Program

CHICAGO—Colgate toothpaste will reach 30,000 families in need, thanks to a contribution from Colgate-Palmolive to Oral Health America (OHA).

“Colgate's donation allows us to help community programs serving uninsured and underserved children,” said Sue Dodd, OHA's Director of Programs. “OHA's role is to deliver resources to communities served through Smiles Across America and our Smiles Across America Product Donation Program, helping to ensure that their community and school dental programs are sustained. One of our key messages is the importance of brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, and this donation helps families, and also supports the programs that serve them.”

Colgate toothpaste will be sent to OHA's Smiles Across America program partners in Maine , New York City, Philadelphia, West Virginia, Chicago, Minnesota, Las Vegas, and Santa Barbara/Ventura Counties (CA), and many other locations via OHA's Smiles Across America Product Donation Program distribution channels. “Colgate was very happy to provide this support to OHA's Smiles Across America program,” said Dr. Fotinos S. Panagakos, Director of Professional Relations for Colgate-Palmolive, Co. “As a national and global leader in oral health care, we are committed to ensuring that the underserved of our communities have access to oral care products and educational programs.”

Smiles Across America currently serves eight regions of the country, bringing technical assistance and resources to school oral health programs. The Smiles Across America Product Donation Program provides donated dental materials, including dental sealants and fluoride varnish, to hundreds of community health programs nation wide. Together, the programs support services to over 100,000 children annually, and help communities respond to unmet oral health needs.
