Protection, June 3, 2003. "Can Tobacco Cure Smoking?- A Review of Tobacco
Harm Reduction.
Oral Health America was asked by counsel to the subcommittee to identify witnesses
and background information to this hearing, primarily on spit (smokeless) tobacco.
Joe Garagiola, chairman of OHA's National
Spit Tobacco Education Program (NSTEP) and NSTEP spokesman Doug Harvey sent
letters to subcommittee members. OHA generated sign-on letters, and partnered
with the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids to produce an advertisement
which ran in the Washington Post, Roll Call and Capitol Times.
