JUNE IS NATIONAL SMILE MONTH
How to Participate
Program partners from Tallahassee, Florida to Seattle, Washington are issuing their own press releases and holding National Smile Month events to promote effective oral health policies and encourage Americans to “Brush for Health!” Oral Health America will be featuring your stories and sharing your materials on line throughout the month of June. Please let us know what you are planning, send photos, and share your ideas with others across the country by emailing Kristen White, ltapp@oralhealthamerica.org.
Participation in National Smile Month can include sharing the campaign messages with family and friends, or challenging your children, students, or patients to a two-minute “brushoff” to see who comes the closest in brushing their teeth for two minutes without a timer! Enter the Healthy Smile Contest, and share your photos and stories at.
Significant national attention to healthcare reform this month means that there has never been a more critical time to contact your elected officials to ask them to support oral health and oral healthcare. Send a letter or email, or make a phone call today to your state and national representatives, and to President Obama, stating the importance of oral health’s inclusion in healthcare reform.
